“ Grabbed takeaway from New Cathay and it felt like falling through a time warp. This is the kind of "Chinese food" my grandmother would enjoy. Mild, sweet and well behaved. The crispy pork was the standout. Crunchy and full of flavour. The fried rice, chicken and corn soup, and satay skewers were fine but forgettable. The “hot” chicken curry was mislabelled at best and deceitful at worst. Spice level of custard, personality of boiled meat. If you want gentle, no-surprises takeaway, this will do. If you want bold flavours or something with bite, look elsewhere. ”
“ Without question the food was the best that we have ever eaten. The chicken was perfect, the batter crunchy. The beef was tender and sweet. The fried rice perfect. Seriously delicious food at a reasonable price. Will return when passing through next time! ”
“ Loved the food at this restaurant. We ordered two of the specials which consisted of a main dish like sweet and sour pork or chicken and almonds. It came with fried rice and two spring rolls. It was delicious. Great value for money. The friendly staff provided quick service and our meals arrived in no time at all. We'll certainly be back again the next time we are visiting Queanbeyan. ”
“ Been travelling between Cooktown and Melbourne for many years and always on the lookout for superb Chinese cuisine. If you were offered your last meal before the chair , go this food because after this there is no better. You may as well die… the search is over! ”
“ Awesome meal, so good we went back the next night. Great service, fast and the food was amazing ”
